We start our story with Melanie Barse in the 1980s. In her hometown of Ft. Worth, Texas, Melanie started her career in jewelry by running a modest gift shop with her mother, Nancy Moore. that of Melanie innate multilingualism brought her to Mexico, where she was among the first to start bringing sterling from Taxco, Mexico, into the United States. She was able to choose the newest designs because she had a natural sense of style. Melanie, a twentysomething, would find the greatest items and bring them back to the store to sell. Melanie, though, continued to remain there. Her motto has always been Why not  with a lively and joyful spirit. She teamed up with her husband since she realized she could sell her skillfully picked pieces to other people.
